Hot or Heat??

A Malaysian group condemned the uniform worn by girls at government schools, saying it encouraged rape and pre-marital sex.

National Islamic Students Association of Malaysia VP Munirah Bahari said that the white blouse of school uniform is too transparent for girls and becomes a source of attraction to encourage rape and pre-marital sex.

“It becomes a distraction to men, who are drawn to it, whether or not they like looking at it,” she said, calling for a review of uniform policy so that it did not violate Islamic ideals.

They have nothing else to do and came out with this not-smart idea to review the uniform policy. They must have been sitting in air condition rooms for too long and forget about their school life wearing that uniform. Nevertheless, these people cannot recall how hot, stuffy and sweaty is the atmosphere in classes and school compound just by wearing the thin-cloth uniform that they refer to. The environment is smelly enough with everyone’s’ odors. (Unless the school is fully air-conditioned, you can now ask all the students to wear sweater and long pants to school)

I don’t see a problem with Chinese and Indian students putting on a blouse and a pinafore. Those 2 layers are enough to produce liters of sweat and yes! It covered areas that are supposed to be covered. Unlike baju kurung, it is only one layer of long white blouse which are equivalent to short white blouse being worn in the blue pinafore.

Munirah said that “covering up” according to Islamic precepts was important to fend off social ills, including “rape, sexual harassment and even premarital sex.”

You want to Islamize all the students kah? If that is Islamic precepts then just apply it to all Islam students not everybody. In fact, as I said, baju kurung if far more revealing than the 2 layers of blouse and pinafore.

“This leads to babies born out of wedlock and, to an extent, even prostitution,” she said.

Uniform transparency is not the major factor leading to this duh! If you really want to prevent, take action on the main factor lah. Parents consent??? Religious teaching??? Morality trainings???

Why only teach Islamic religion teaching in school? What about the Buddhist, Hindu, Christian and other minority religion teaching? You don’t provide them in school do you?

However, the girls themselves also came in for criticism, with the association saying that some used the white blouse to lure men. “This is the source of the problem, where we can see that schoolgirls themselves are capable of using this to attract men to them,” Munirah said.

So what is your main point in this issue? Even with the damn thick uniform and fully covered, this social illness can never be revamp if the girls intention is already there. If the authority really review the policy and make changes, will it really helps?

What do you think~~?

Lets Support........

Condolence

My deepest condolence goes to the family of the late Too Hui Min. May you rest in peace and May you attain nibbana-ship. Hui Min had died of a pain stomach in which she was not taken to a proper attention by the NS authorities when she first started complaining the pain.

Hui Min, you do not deserve such a punishment for you done no wrong.
We truly hope that proper action would be taken against the authorities who are so irresponsible.

NS training has really caused too many deaths, rapes and silly occurrence. In comparison, does the benefit exceed the heavy cost ( monetary, time, value etc ) that results? All this crap is wasting rakyats’ money and it’s a total useless management to carry the camp out.

Date of event : 26th April 2008 (saturday)

Time : 8.00pm

Venue : Wisma Seck Kia Eenh, Jalan Gajah Berang , Melaka

ENTRANCE IS FREE!!

Featuring Malaysia leading Buddhist singing group i.e. Wayfarers, M.O.D, I.Gemz. Bodhi Group etc.

Seck Kia Eenh Dhamma School has been the fertile home of yesteryear’s local Buddhist composers and singers in the likes of Datuk Dr. Victor Wee and Bro. Tan Huat Chye. Their works have encouraged and spurred the production of many new compositions and Buddhist singing groups in Malaysia. These new compositions are now an effective tool to reach out to the younger generation as the youth can easily relate to the messages expounded by these songs.

Thus, the Echoes of Buddhism Concert as community outreach programme which are wholly sponsored by various Buddhist organizations and personalities are to promote Buddhism through songs to the masses. It is with great pleasure that for the second time in Malacca, the Buddhist community had the opportunity to witness live on stage the country’s best talents in creative music composition, arrangement and performance. This time around is the showcase of biggest gathering of Buddhist performing and recording groups in the country namely the M.O.D., i-Gemz,, the new comers into the history of EOB namely Bodhi Singing Group, Malacca Buddhist Youth Society (MBYS), Kota Kemuning Buddhist Society and etc. This event was also an inaugural of Echoes of Buddhism#1 first organized by Seck Kia Eenh Dhamma School back in year 2006 which had then became an annual event with its second and third edition being held at Penang which are organized by Friends Of The Dharma.Net.

This time around, we aimed at introducing and promoting the latest local Buddhist composition to Malacca devotees and public. We also intend to expose and update members of Seck Kia Eenh Dhamma School to various current performing local Buddhist performing groups so that the SKEDS youth can improve themselves. In the networking perspectives, we looked forward in strengthening bilateral relationship between Buddhist Sunday Schools and Youth Organisations of Malaysia and Singapore. In conjunction with the upcoming Wesak Day, as part of the preparation atmosphere, this concert has provide a diversity to share our Wesak joy not only within ourselves but also with friends from outstation especially friends from way down south; Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery Singapore, way up north from Friends of The Dhamma Fellowship Penang and also various groups from central Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.

I would also like to take this opportunity to stress on the importance of music in instilling positive values, discipline and the spiritual direction in the hearts of our young Buddhists in this new age of technology that brings along with it the manifold benefits. I strongly encourage that there is a need for parents to enroll their children in Dhamma Schools to learn, practice and to encourage the propagation of the Buddha-Dharma.

On behalf of my organizing team, we hope that tonight will be a musical night worth “hanging out” with for all of you. Sadhu to all of you who had contributed in one way and another to make tonight’s event happen. Do make it a delightful and entertaining night. May the teaching of peace and the teaching of love as taught by our great teacher spreads and brings awareness to all of us. May all be well and happy always!

Pontianak in video causes a stir

Pontianak is always so scary hearing that it will transform itself from a pretty girl to ugly wicked woman.

“Pontianak” is one of the most famous, scariest and violent ghost in the Malaysian culture. Primarily, the Malays believe that it originates from a still born child, women who dies while giving birth, women who were killed by the pontianak or their spirits captured by them. The phrase “Pontianak” was believed from the acronym of “Perempuan Mati Beranak” in the Malay language, meaning the woman death by childbirth. After such death, precautions are taken to prevent them from rising like
  • Putting glass beads in the corpses mouth so that they can’t shriek
  • Placing eggs under the corpses armpits so that they can’t fly
  • Placing needles in their palms so that they can’t fly also (apparently the palm helps the pontianak to fly)

Pontianak usually announces its presence through baby cries or turn themselves into beautiful lady and frighten or kill the unlucky who enter or pass through their vicinity. It usually disguise itself as a beautiful young lady to attract its victim (usually male). Its presence sometimes can be detected by a nice floral fragrance of the ‘kemboja’ (a type of flower) followed by an awful stench afterwards. The distance of a pontianaks cries are very tricky. The Malays believe that if the cry is soft means that the pontianak is near and if it is loud then it must be far.

Want to know how a pontianak kills? It digs into your stomach with its long sharp fingernails and feed on it to survive. And want to know why we don’t hang our clothes at night outside the house? It’s because people believe that it sniffs your clothes to suck your blood.

It is also believed that the pontianak can be killed by plunging a nail down the back of its neck whereby it will transform the pontianak into a beatiful normal girl.

Harian Metro reported.......

For the past fortnight, droves of people have gathered at a bridge near Jalan Pulau Gadong, Malacca, where the 50-second video-clip was purportedly filmed.

Many stayed up to the wee hours of the morning hoping to catch a glimpse of the spectre.

The video clip, circulated via mobile phone, shows a woman with long black hair and clad in a white cloth floating in midair while whimpering.

A receiver of the video clip told the Malay daily that he had heard many stories about the pontianak.

“Some say she would appear like a damsel in distress but when approached, she would turn into a pontianak.

“I’ve also heard that the police were called in by several men who stumbled upon the apparition, who was asking if they had seen her missing child.

Flood a year back

Though it has been a year, I just want to share this over what happened back in 2006. I'm so sorry for mommy and daddy for not helping over the clearing up. I knew you both did very hard especially daddy who has his leg bruised while the water raised and they have to quickly evacuate as the dawn came.
I remembered very clear this history at home. I was undergoing internship at Ernst & Young Malacca. December 18,19 and 20 marks the heavy downpour in Malacca non-stop day and night. For nowhere the water could flow, the damp in Machap is going to burst. As with no choice the authority let open the damp gate to allow the water to flow and thus residential garden where my house is considered the nearest. December 20th morning, I was at Farmbest Food Industry doing audit. Mom was at JB working while dad is alone left at home. Mom gave me a call telling me that our house has been flooded. Without further elaborating, I thought that it was a minor case as I do not came across the thought that the water level would raise to the very bad level. So I continued with my work. Mom was then on the way rushed home from JB. When we off work at bout 6pm, we got stuck at Cheng as there was a slight landslide. We then diverted into Tmn Merdeka. To my shocked, cars were parking at higher areas along the roadside, and I saw entrance to my kampung has been blocked and that policemen was everywhere. After many of u-turn and diverts, we manage to get out of the flooding zone and I get back to my old house where my parents is. They told me what happened. Daddy got his leg bruised while walking out to the main road as he cant see the road that was already covered up with muddy flood water. Mom and dad managed to drive the car out in the tyred-covered-by-water situation. Duh... Malaysian made car (Proton Wira) not that bad okay.... They seen many better cars got stuck along way. Everyday, dad will fetch mom in a bike to see the flood condition, it took 2 days for the water to subside and that we are allowed to get in. These are few pictures of the flood water subsided and that we are allowed to get into our home.

My home garden.
Saw the water level stain at the wall? That was the maximum raise of the water while we r being evacuated.

My Kampung road. Water subsiding.

Our tong sampah is missing!
It floats to elsewhere....

Derasnya..........

Water subsided and flows to town area that started flooding.... This is Jalan Kilang.

She needs lots of support

Its not easy for child prodigy, Sufiah Yusof to adjust her lifestyle that she is so used to. Nevertheless, she shouldn't continue to be like this as it will deteriorate her sexual health. The probability of STD is very high and again she will only end up in a misery ending in the final episode of her life. Someone, please help her to a new chapter of life.... Sufiah, if you are reading this, there are many people who are concern. Living life in a wrong way will just make things worse.
This is what the media got to say..... No worries.... Please come back.

Readers express concern for Sufiah

The Star

KUALA LUMPUR: The sad story of Sufiah Yusof, the child prodigy who had reportedly become an adult hooker, has elicited many sympathetic responses from bloggers and Netizens.

British tabloid News of the World had published a report that the Math genius, who had entered Oxford University at the age of 12, was now charging £130 (RM829) for sex through a Manchester-based hookers’ website for “Asian escorts”.

One blogger wrote after reading the story: “You may come to the conclusion that this is a classic example of a child being pushed too hard.

“A child who was forced into ‘education slavery’ far too young without being able to enjoy her childhood.

“I believe that most of what she had done in the past was an act of defiance; a mutinous act against her father to state, ‘Hey, stop pushing me around. I need a life too!’”

An old friend of Sufiah’s responded: “As a human and woman I do really care about her and am also worried about her religion.

“I know it must be some secret of her life that made her lost. How can I contact or e-mail her?”

A blogger from Malaysia wrote: “I am sad with what had happened. Come back to Malaysia, you have many friends here.”

Some said she should be forgiven and guided back to the right path through religious teachings.

News of the World had reported, “Calling herself Shilpa Lee, the former child prodigy still juggles with figures on a hookers’ website, describing herself as a ‘very pretty size 8, 32D bust and 55” tall - available for booking every day from 11am to 8pm’.”

The newspaper’s reporter had posed as a potential client and “she laughed and joked as she led him to her small apartment where a bed was already set out in the lounge.”

Several grainy pictures of her in the nude were also published in the tabloid.

Lost of a beloved one is an attachment that we got to let go someday.

Don't say the kids. Even if this situation falls on me, I can hardly take it. Mom, Dad, I will appreciate moments now and to come, the love that you both had poured on me.

Somehow, I can never repay the love that my parents had given to me. They ensure that I had proper education and are brought up well. They feed me with every need that I want. I kept my promise that I will return it to you when you grow old and will make sure I will do it twice better for my children in future.

To all daughters ans sons out there, appreciate your parents while they are still with you.

Where is mummy?

Why has she been gone for so long?

These were the heart-wrenching questions Tan Xin Yeng, five, and Xing San, seven, have been asking their grandparents.

This two young boys are finding it difficult to cope with the untimely death of their mother Dr Tan Bee Hooi.

Genius On The Game

Maths prodigy who won an Oxford place at 13 is now a £130-an-hour HOOKER

SHE was a child maths genius who won a place at Oxford University aged just 13—but now the only sums Sufiah Yusof is interested in are the ones she earns as a HOOKER.

For sad Sufiah the daily equation she has to solve is simply sex equals £130 as she sells her body to punters over the internet.

The gifted girl with the winning smile had the world at her feet ten years ago and should be a rich woman by now—but last week she was busy subtracting her underwear for our undercover reporter in her dingy back street flat.

"Would you like to start your half hour now?" said Sufiah, 23, as she danced on the bed, displaying her body for examination.

Then she listed all the sleazy plus points she would throw in for our man if he took up her offer.

Calling herself Shilpa Lee, the former child prodigy still juggles with figures on a hookers' website, describing herself as a "very pretty size 8, 32D bust and 5'5" tall—available for booking every day from 11am to 8pm."

She says she is a "sexy, smart student" who prefers "older gentlemen"— but a former pal who has witnessed her downfall told us: "It is all desperately heartbreaking.

"With her amazing brain she should be able to make money any way she wants. But instead her life has spiralled completely out of control."

Life has never quite added up for Sufiah. Her descent into prostitution in Salford, Manchester, is the latest in a long line of tragedies to have engulfed her since the sunny day when she posed with her university mortar board for the world's press outside prestigious St Hilda's College.

Our shock revelations today come in the week her domineering dad Farooq was jailed for sexually assaulting two 15-year-old girls as he home-tutored them in maths.

And he was always at the root of all her troubles— even as she passed the further maths A-Level she needed for entry to Oxford at the age of 12. In those days Sufia was a strict Muslim child who prayed five times a day and was subjected to her father's famous Accelerated Learning Technique.

Her days involved stretching and breathing exercises in freezing rooms to keep her brain attentive.

Sufiah would then study hard and be forced to play tennis with just as much intensity as fanatical Farooq drove her on. The routine was so effective Sufiah was seeded number eight in the country for under 21s.

But three years into Oxford, the 15-year-old sparked a massive police hunt after running away.

Abuse

At the time her father bizarrely claimed Sufiah had been kidnapped and brainwashed by an organisation seeking the key to her intelligence.

But Sufiah sent an email to her family describing her life under her father as a "living hell".

One message to her sister read: "I've finally had enough of 15 years of physical and emotional abuse. You know what I am talking about."

Sufiah was missing for two weeks before being found in an internet café in Bournemouth where she had been working as a hotel waitress.

She refused to go back to her parents and instead was taken into the care of social services.

It was then revealed that Farooq had been jailed for three years in 1992 for his part in a £1.5m mortgage swindle. Before that—at the age of 19—he had been sent to borstal for his role in a conspiracy involving £100,000.

Free from the spell of her father, Sufiah returned to Oxford to complete the final year of her Masters in Maths.

But she was now more concerned with enjoying herself—and failed to finish the course after meeting trainee lawyer Jonathan Marshall.

They were married in 2004 when Sufiah was just 19 and Jonathan 24. But the strains with her family were still there.

Despite being invited, Sufiah's parents and four brothers and sisters failed to turn up to the wedding.

Her dreams of a happy life with Jonathan were shattered when the couple divorced just a year later.

Now, in her sad little flat, she uses her body to pay the rent. Sufiah met our man, posing as a punter, at the entrance to her building wearing a tiny skirt, leather boots and a tight t-shirt. She was carrying three mobile phones.

She laughed and joked as she led him to her small apartment where a bed was already set out in the lounge.

She told him it was £130 an hour and offered him a glass of water before putting some music on to a cheap portable stereo and nervously stripping down to her red lace bra and knickers.

Sufiah then peeled off her underwear and danced on the bed. She told him she did full sex with a condom and oral sex without protection.

After our man had made his excuses, Sufiah kept him talking by telling him how she was studying for a Masters degree in Economics on a part-time two year course in London.

The former prodigy added: "I've got exams coming up and I'm thinking ‘Oh my God!'"

Once described by her parents as "naïve and unstreetwise", she works alone from her flat without any obvious physical security or protection.

She even admitted to our reporter: "It's always a surprise who you are going to meet."

Cheerful Sufiah gave no indication of any sadness at the jailing of her father the previous day. On Wednesday Farooq, 50, was sentenced to 18 months at Coventry Crown Court for touching two 15-year-old girls when he was home tutoring them at maths.

The court heard how in May last year Farooq arrived at one of the victim's home for a maths lesson.

He started whispering in her ear and kissing her hair and cheek. He also touched her breast and told her she was a genius and pretty before putting her hand on his upper thigh.

Destroyed

Farooq's defence lawyer Tim Hannam said: "He's been back in prison for over five months and knows there'll be no more teaching and any hope he had of gaining an income from the teaching method he had developed to a high degree of success is lost to him. His reputation is destroyed."

Now it's clear the daughter who fled his strict regime has almost been destroyed too.

Her friend said last night: "Sufiah has suffered so many knocks in her life. I just hope she can drag herself out this life she has got herself into.

"She is a good person and deserves a much better life than this. Her gift really has been a curse."

Ah, Pakcik Teksi!

"Kita pemandu teksi, susah nak cari makan."
The attitude speaks for itself. With the ease of public buses and railway systems, people can easily get to everywhere their destination is. Either, people prefer to drive themselves at times. Taking taxis is only the last resort, the final resort I can say. Why?
Happened today that I was at Hentian Serdang wanting to take a cab back home which is about 500m away. The distance is walkable but due to the hot weather, I thought maybe I can take the cab instead of walking. Beside the public toilet was the taxi drivers' common area, where they gather. I walked to the group of taxi drivers and one of them asked me if I need a ride home. I say Yes, my destination is Sri Serdang (500m away). Normally it costs RM5 for that 500m ride home. I am wiling to pay that unworthy charges, I dont mind but none is willing to fetch. He asked me to wait till he gets full, 4 customers, then he'll move. Ah, Pakcik Taxi! 500m away is only 5 minutes to and fro!! And you'll earn RM5 and it is more than enough to cover the cost for that distance. Yet, they doesn't prioritize their customer and the little amount of profit rather than nothing. They prefer to sit and chat non-sense down there and make you wait like stupid fool. Well, I have my alternative though, I walked home despite the hot sun. Its only 10minutes. These greedy taxi driver have forgotten that the distance is walkable, and they simply lost a profitable business by 'lepak-ing' beside the longkang.
This is only one of example of unethical taxi driver. Taxi driver who rapes, cheat. etc are the destroyer of the innocent taxi driver community creating the bad impression on all. So why does taxi driver complains that they cant earn a living? Like I say, the attitude tells it all. Once cheated, twice suffered. Sorry for the good taxi driver out there, but the uncivilised one are way too much. No short-cut for big money Pakcik. To earn a living, we must struggle. Peribahasa melayu ada mengatakan "sedikit-sedikit lama-lama jadi bukit". Oleh itu, rezeki yang sedikit jangan ditolak. RM5 sekali, kalau 10 kali dapat RM50. Kalau rezeki tidak mahu diangkat, 10 kali dah hilang RM50. Cukup untuk rokok 10 bungkus, pakcik!
